We previously communicated that OpenAI is moving to a subscription-plus-usage pricing model this coming fiscal year.
The base subscription provides access to the basic models and features; access to advanced features and the newest models now consume credits, which require additional payment.
We have modified our plan. When users are asked if they want to renew their licenses on July 1, they can choose between two tiers: Base or Power
- Base: It costs $236/year (same as last year). Users will have a weekly allowance of 60 credits in addition to the base subscription. This gives them unlimited access to a base set of models and features and 60 credits with which they can access any model or feature, basic or advanced. When they hit their credit limit for the seven-day period, they have to wait until their credits are refreshed or use the included models that do not consume credits.
- Power: It has the same initial price point as the base plan, but the user can continue to consume credits beyond the set limit and up to an additional 10,000 credits per week, which can be increased upon request. A credit is approximately $0.04; 10,000 credits will cost around $400. Users in this tier will be billed quarterly for usage above the base plan.

Current subscribers will receive a renewal message that describes their options.
