Community Device Programs

ITS has engaged in a number of initiatives to help ensure that our community has access to contemporary devices of sufficient quality to facilitate their research, teaching, and learning success. We developed appropriate device standards in concert with representative faculty and other academic support offices. Equipment that meets these guidelines enables best practical use of UConn’s applications and services.  ITS also created subsidized device purchasing and equipment loan programs, which provide our community with suitable equipment that meets published requirements and ease the financial burden for departments, units, and colleges. Finally, we established new resources, such as the Student Technology Training course and the new “Tech Check,” to better support remote teaching, learning, and work. These initiatives were executed individually but were intended to function in concert. To facilitate this, we have created a knowledge base article to bring relevant information together. We encourage you to review this material and also steer your constituents to this article when they have questions.
