Fourth Phase of Wired Access Layer Refresh (WALR) Project

WALR is a multi-year infrastructure initiative to upgrade the data network on every campus to a contemporary engineered standard. We have proposed to and gained approval from the Board of Trustees for the fourth phase of the project.  It will include installation of equipment and cabling, as required, for the three buildings that make up the School of Business on the Storrs and Hartford campuses; the Rudd Center located in downtown Hartford; Hosmer and Knight Hall at the Hartford Law School; McMahon Residence Hall; and Family Studies Building.  We also carry forward remaining work from the third phase that was deferred largely due to supply chain delays.  Work on the Avery Point campus and College of Agriculture complex on Horsebarn Hill will begin this summer and be completed this winter.  Additional information about the project and schedule is available at its.uconn.edu/network-refresh-project-overview.
