The new Kuali Build integrated forms and automated approval workflow tool is now generally available.
Kuali Build is a cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) application development platform that enables code-free creation of online forms. ITS has historically utilized IBM Forms Experience Builder (FEB) for this functionality. It was sold to HCL Software and eventually became HCL Leap. It no longer appears prominently in their roadmap, and support for it diminished after they released a newer, separate product. ITS implemented Kuali Build as an intended successor to Leap. Marketed by Kuali as a tool “built exclusively for higher education,” it meets many of our functional requirements. ITS, in collaboration with Human Resources (HR), used this product recently to launch the Employee & Gratis Vaccine Reporting System. We are working with UConn developers to rebuild existing Leap applications in Kuali Build and are also making the tool broadly available at UConn. More information is available on kb.uconn.edu.
