Security Response: UConn Web Services Protected

A global security threat has prompted ITS to assume a protective posture.

Vulnerabilities in PHP, a scripting language used for websites, are actively being exploited. In response, we are protecting online services at UConn that may use PHP. The following services will only be available while connected to the UConn network or with a VPN connection established:

  • UConn websites that are hosted on Aurora or another service
  • Netid.uconn.edu
  • RHAP 2 (webserver)
  • Nexus

These services will remain “UConn-only” until patches are released and applied. Updates will be posted to itstatus.uconn.edu.
