Seamless Single Sign-On (SSO)

ITS is enabling Seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) for all domain-joined Windows workstations on April 18, 2022.

Microsoft (MS) Office 365 (O365) is a personal productivity suite used by nearly everyone at the university. MS recently released a Seamless Single Sign On (SSO) feature that automatically signs individuals into O365 applications, reducing prompts for usernames and passwords. While this streamlined experience may go unnoticed by those using clients with previously cached credentials, it will be apparent when logging into a classroom computer or any other time a new profile is created. Instead of being prompted separately, clients will automatically sign into Teams and OneDrive, and when Outlook is opened, the email address and password will auto populate. Enabling features as they become available is an element in ITS’s approach to product selection, use, and evolution. ITS chooses well established vendor products that deliver enterprise-level capabilities and are aligned with identified community needs. We implement and use these products as they were intended. Vendor updates are adopted quickly to both remain current and provide you with new features. These simple practices drive our systems, services, and capabilities and keep us best positioned to match pace with the rate of industry change.
