Google Migration Update

ITS has been progressively transferring clients off Google. We helped alumni retrieve their data and have closed most of their accounts.  For technical reasons, recent graduates were not part of this group and we will be separately facilitating their transition into our alumni forwarding service.  Staff files have been moved to OneDrive and the associated Google accounts were closed.

ITS is currently migrating active student email service, email data, and Google Drive files to Microsoft 365 in batches.  We provide specific directions throughout the process, but this is a substantive change, and some may struggle.  If students come to you with questions, you can direct them to the Technology Support Center or Knowledge Base (kb.uconn.edu), which contains a section devoted to migration support.  ITS will also be launching a new course in HuskyCT and offering a First Year Experience campus partner presentation to help new students acclimate to the Microsoft 365 environment.

ITS will begin staging the faculty transition in the middle of July and finalize their migration at the beginning of August. They will receive more specific information as this timeline approaches.  ITS is offering one-on-one support via the Technology Support Center throughout the summer for faculty who wish to move their data themselves.  They can book an appointment at https://techsupport.uconn.edu/migration-support/.
