Main Event Page

You will be able to choose five workshops/presentations. Most sessions are offered twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Please read the descriptions for the sessions in advance. Some have a workshop component and may recommend that you bring a device.

The 30-minute sessions at lunch are staggered. On the day of the event, you will be assigned a lunch wave to help us manage the flow of traffic to the Union Street Market. If you are in Wave 1, you will attend the short session after lunch. If you are in Wave 2, you will attend the short session before lunch.

Enter Interfolio: The Ins and Outs of UConn’s PTR Solution | Rm 108

If you are a staff person who is involved with the faculty promotion, tenure, and reappointment (PTR), or promotion and reappointment (PR) processes, then this session is for you. We will cover the basics of UConn's reporting system, Interfolio.  We will also touch on the upcoming migration of data from HuskyDM to Interfolio's Faculty Activity Reporting module (FAR) and its impact on the PTR process and utilizing Interfolio’s PTR module.

Beginners Guide to HuskyBuy | Rm 110

Presenters: Jeremiah Macht, David Denuzzio, & Thomas DeVito, University Business Services

HuskyBuy beginners will be introduced to using HuskyBuy for their Purchasing needs. The University Business Services (UBS) Center of Excellence (CoE) team will guide you through setting up user profiles and notifications to make the purchasing process more efficient. We will go over HuskyBuy roles and related responsibilities along with the entire shop to pay process to include on boarding suppliers, placing requisitions and purchase order amendments.

If time allows, we would like to go over step by step in creating a requisition and a purchase order amendment. Please feel free to bring your laptop and work on your actual orders. Our team would be happy to assist you in person!

Learn Kuali Build essentials! This session is for individuals that would like to build applications in Kuali Build. New and existing builders are welcome! We will introduce Kuali Build and discuss best practices, permissions, and useful features, such as data lookups.

Connect and Collaborate: The Essentials of OneDrive and SharePoint | Rm 202

This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of how to effectively use OneDrive and SharePoint for improved collaboration and productivity, as well as detail the integrations between the two platforms. Attendees will learn how to seamlessly access and share files across devices with OneDrive, ensuring they can access their work anywhere, anytime.

We will dive into the use of SharePoint as a document storage library, essential for enhancing document management and team collaboration. Participants will learn how to organize, store, and share documents efficiently, ensuring that team members have easy access to necessary files anytime. We will cover best practices for setting up and managing SharePoint document libraries, including permissions, version control, and integration with OneDrive for offline access. The session will also demonstrate how to use SharePoint’s search capabilities to quickly locate documents and how to optimize your document library for maximum productivity. A Site to Behold: Simplifying Website Building with Aurora | Rm 205

Website creation shouldn't be hard. In this session, we will provide an overview of how to build a site in Aurora, UConn's Web Content Management System. We'll cover how to get started by requesting an account and how to publish with our go-live process. Throughout the session, we’ll cover some tips and tricks that will help you build with ease.

Discovering Kuali Financials: An Intro for Beginners | Rm 206

Are you new to the University and support financial operations in your area? ITS and Accounting have teamed up to provide a quick overview of KFS and its integrated systems. We'll provide some tips for navigating the menus, using document and asset lookups, looking at account balances, running reports, and using the UConn Knowledge Base to find additional information.

  • Learn how to take advantage of built-in organizational tools like flags, categories, and Microsoft To-Do to keep yourself and your communications on track.
  • One-on-one scheduling, big meetings, or reserving a meeting location – Outlook does it all! Outlook offers features that can help you plan and schedule your events of (almost) any size.
  • Shared calendars help your teams schedule and coordinate meetings. Find out how you can add that calendar and other shared resources to your own Outlook for easier management.

  • Take your meetings to the next level with breakout rooms, recordings, transcripts, and attendance
