Welcome to the University Information Technology Services web site. UITS is comprised of several departments that together provide network and computing technology service and support to the UConn community and other state entities. We strive to provide quality and relevant technology services and have instituted a number of venues, in the form of governance committees, for you, our customers, to provide input to us. These committees collectively ensure that we are moving toward goals that have been arrived at in collaboration with you.
The vast majority of our work involves the organization and execution of technology projects. These projects each have a tie into the Information Technology Strategic Plan that has been adopted in 2006 by the University. Communication of details regarding our project initiatives is important to us to ensure that we maintain a common understanding of these initiatives with all of our stakeholders.
Along with the project work that we accomplish we provide a number of technology services. These services in many instances have been instituted as self-service applications. A self-service application allows one to resolve a technology issue by visiting a web site and receiving instant assistance. Other services require an interaction with a staff member.
We have designed this web site to satisfy a number of objectives:
- Provide information regarding our division and the services that we provide,
- Provide timely and accurate information regarding our project initiatives,
- A single place to determine the status of UITS centralized systems and other technology related information,
